Wizards Teases Upcoming Books

Wizards of the Coast has divulged some information about their upcoming Dungeons & Dragons 4th Edition releases, spanning from this month’s miniatures to 2009′s Arcane Power, 4E’s answer to 3.5′s Complete Arcana. I am actually fairly excited for the Forgotten Realms settings, as I enjoyed using Faerûn in 3.5. I don’t really use the campaign setting books for anything more than flavor text and maps, but it definitely helps to have a backstory premade for any campaign you want to run, and the fact that it will be updated to include all 4th Edition goodies makes it that much better. September’s Tome of Treasues is also of great intrest to me, being filled with new items and mounts. What kind of mounts, you ask?

This year still has plenty of great looking books coming out, keeping the upcoming months looking extremely interesting for D&D players. It appears that “Power” is the new “Complete,” with Martial Power and Arcane Power coming out where Complete Arcane and Complete Warrior once stood. It looks like they are cutting out all of the fat and getting straight to the popular books, expanding the classes and adding a massive amount of new content.
There is even a Draconomicon coming out in November. Not only that, but it is called Draconomicon I: Chromatic Dragon. That’s right, there will be multiple versions of the Draconomicon this time, oh joyous day. I am never going to hear the end of this from FemJesse…
There is plenty more on their online catalogue, and be sure to check back with Pen and Paper Portal for impressions of the books as they are released!

There will be 50 editions of the draconomicon and I’ll be darned if they don’t add an epic feat to give your dragonborne wings.
